OUR VISION
Use art to capture the interest of middle school students at risk in mathematics.
Throughout history art has been used as a medium to communicate knowledge. Art can be used to demonstrate
complex math principles. The Fusion Project uses this relationship to stimulate student interest in math.
OUR MISSION
The Fusion Project supports middle school classroom math instruction by providing an educational enrichment program. Instruction
modules target specific math concepts students find difficult to understand as documented in the results of California standardized exams.
The education resources and collections of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (de Young and Legion of Honor) are used as the basis
for these modules which integrate art with a practical exposure to these difficult Math concepts.
